Early January has brought some movement by the eagles.
The youngster at the moment remains on the Aniva cape, the south eastern tip of Sakhalin Island (http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/12280835.jpg). Probably it can not see Japan, and is reluctant to cross the open sea, as in the past winter.
The adult eagle, which crossed to Hokkaido at the beginning of the month has moved inland and is now in the area where it wintered last year.
