Return to Magadan.

June 27, 2015.

We returned to Magadan town in the early morning in thick drizzle. On the way we had to fly a quadrocopter in the rain/shower at a nest, which had not been thoroughly checked. No chick was found.

The remaining trip along the flooded river was uneventful, apart from a small incident with a bear crossing river nearby.  The temptation was too strong, so we come close.

 After a brief stop at a ranger’s station we went to Talon where we had to wait for the car. At the end of the day we were in Magadan arranging our next trip.

So, the results were as follows: we had 1 chick on the Kava, 3 chick (plus one casualty) on the Chelomdja river and 1 chick on the Tauy river. Not a bad season for the Steller’s.
