August 4. Bears.

August, 4.  Foggy day, stayed at the Ploskiy ranger’s station. It appears that the female with 2 cubs, who greeted us during previous evening is a local female called “Mashka”. It was starring in already 3 documentary movies (Austrian and two by Russian TV companies). She figured out that if she is not trespassing the ranger’s station, she can fish at the estuary in the view of the people at the station, but away from alpha males fished upstream. So, every tide was locking her close to the people, but the dogs kept the bear with cubs away from demarcation line. This created superb conditions for filming. We had few pictures too.
